Marian was an active member of Pennard WI for over 15 years. She held the posts of Secretary and Treasurer at different times and had many imaginative ideas while on Committee. She instigated our "Bus'n Lunch" trips when once a month all of our members could catch the village bus to a pub on its route and have lunch together. This proved very popular particularly for people living on their own. Her cake making skills were greatly appreciated at our social events as well as the annual village Carnival when she would provide not just one but several lovely cakes. The Carnival was always a busy day serving refreshments to hundreds of people and even when her mobility was a problem Marian would bring her own stool so that she could help by washing up. Her smiling face always welcomed any new members to our meetings and she was always the first to offer to do anything that she was physically able to do. She has formed many friendships in Pennard and she will be very greatly missed by many people.
