Marian made the best Kedgeree and chicken roast dinners, and didn't mind when I was greedy and took more than my fair share of the roast potatoes (well, if she did she was too kind to say anything!).

She always had a huge smile for me (or was it gritted teeth...??) and tolerated it gracefully when I squeezed her a little too hard when I hugged her "hello" or "goodbye."

I think she couldn't wait any longer to get up to mischief with Graham again.

When I think of her I always see that smile and twinkly eyes.
