It was my privilege to have known Marian, all be it for a relatively short time. She had an indomitable spirit which I admired and respected very much. Her passion for the welfare and education of children was something we both shared. We also shared a love of reading and often enjoyed humorous and open-mindedness chats about books we had read and people we had met. Most of all I will remember her for her kindness. I miss her.
